FAMILY PORTRAITS

‘Family Portraits’ is – as the title already reveals– the most personal compilation in Bijnens' oeuvre. In this contemporary series of works, Bijnens connects traditions of different cultures of working and processing animals skins with her own view of family relationships and, in particular, the positionn of the woman, the daughter, the mother and the wife.
